Douglas Fir is hard, strong and straight-grained in relation to its weight. It's durability combined with dense grain structure and fine texture gives this wood exceptional versatility and seasons well. It is stable in use, holds nails and screws securely, readily accepts glues, and is boldly attractive when left exposed to view. The wood is easy to dry, particularly in clear grades and exhibits little tendency to check, warp, cup, twist, or split.
Precision-fitted jointed lumber is actually stronger than the surrounding fiber and virtually invisible. We combine the durability of Douglas Fir with waterproof glue to make our products reliable and dependable. Our wide variety of clear finger-jointed and edge-glued products offers affordable alternatives to more expensive solid products

Specialty Timbers (Kiln Dried & Green)
Douglas Fir offers the advantages of natural beauty, design flexibility, exceptional dimensional stability, and long term durability. In general, applications can be classified into two very broad groups. First, for those structures such as large buildings in which both the strength and appearance of exposed wood members are of equal importance. Second, in landscape, park and garden structures where appearance is of very high importance.
